Any POS or EPOS: import a sales CSV

You do not need to change your till to use FoxEra. Almost every POS and EPOS system — whatever your restaurant, bar, café or hotel runs — can export sales as a CSV file. FoxEra imports that file and turns it into stock deductions and gross profit.

How the sales CSV import works

Export a sales report from your till for the period you want — a day, a week, a trading period. In FoxEra, open Sales uploads and choose the file. FoxEra reads the header row and suggests which column is which: PLU or item code, product name, quantity, unit price and sale date. You confirm the mapping, preview the rows and import.

Each sale line is matched to a recipe through its PLU. Mapped items deduct their ingredients from stock; anything unmapped is listed so you can link it to a recipe and re-run. The same file cannot be imported twice by accident.

  • Works with any till that exports CSV
  • Automatic column suggestions, confirmed by you
  • PLU-to-recipe mapping that FoxEra remembers
  • Preview before anything is written

Lightspeed, Toast, Zonal and other systems

FoxEra does not have a direct live integration with Lightspeed, Toast, Zonal, Epos Now, Tevalis or Oracle Simphony today. If you use one of them, the sales CSV import is the way in: export the sales report, upload it, done. A direct live sync currently exists for Square.

How often should you import?

As often as you want accurate stock. Daily keeps your levels close to reality and makes the variance report meaningful; weekly, before your stocktake, is the minimum for an honest gross-profit figure.

Frequently asked questions

Does FoxEra integrate with Lightspeed, Toast or Zonal?
Not directly. You can export a sales CSV from those systems and import it into FoxEra, which deducts stock through your recipes. Square is the only direct live POS integration today.
What columns does the sales file need?
A PLU or item code (or product name) and a quantity are the essentials. Unit price and sale date are used when present.
What if my till's export has different column names?
That is expected. FoxEra suggests a mapping from the header names and you can change any column before importing.
Can I import Excel files?
Save the report as CSV first — most tills offer CSV directly, and any spreadsheet program can save to it.
